To enter Chaco Canyon is to step back 1,000 years into the past, to see the landscape through the eyes of the ancestral Puebloans who lived there for hundreds of years, building monumental structures, the remains of which can still be seen, and reverently explored, today. It is truly awe inspiring to stand in the canyon and see Fajada Butte in the changing light, to climb to the top of the mesa to greet the dawn, and to explore the maze of rooms in Pueblo Bonito.
