Steamtown National Historic Site

I could come up with all sorts of words explaining how Steamtown fulfills the National Park Service goals by educating the visitor in the history of rail travel and its roles in this country's growth, and by preserving fine examples of a railroad roundhouse and various locomotives and rolling stock.  But, lets be honest, trains are just fun.  Step into the cabin of Number 43, walk through the shop, explore the mailcar, or just stand outside and watch the activity in the railyard just outside Steamtown's door (but watch for oncoming trains).

But, rather than listening to my words, please enjoy a brief visit to Steamtown through the camera's lens...
